Sterling Koch leads the VIH Band. He has a bad disk in his neck and has not been able to work or play guitar since early April. On Sunday, a bunch of blues bands got together at a farm and gave a benefit concert for Sterling. How cool is that? A bunch of bikers, Christians, biker Christians, tatooed people, and life's jumble all together out in the hot sun. It was fun!

Every once and a while I am busy and something happens that reminds me of what is important. Today I was taking care of calls in my office and I came across one of my favorite photos while I was looking for some product samples. When Jordan was 4 or 5 years old he picked-up a special close-up camera that we were selling at the time and peeked in at the lens. I fired the camera and got this picture.

Are you fed up with bringing bananas to work or school only to find them bruised and squashed? Get your Banana Guard here!
PS: I'm considering the "glow in the dark" model. At first it seemed silly, but you know sometimes when you get hungry at night you may want to tuck a banana under your pillow for later!

Pi Er and Brenda on the left and center of the photo are making a number of ID card attachments for our company. They were quite excited about my visit and came running from the factory when we arrived. Pi Er sat in the big wood chair where he made and served tea with fresh watermelon after we toured the factory. It struck me that anywhere in the world Peace, Tea, and Watermelon in the afternoon is pretty cool.

Shenzhen is in China not far from Hong Kong. 20 years ago it was a small fishing village. Now it is a city of seven million people and will soon pass Hong Kong in population. It is a modern industrial and manufacturing center that pulls young people out of rural China to fill jobs. My friends Ben and Ada Choi and I had dinner in a revolving place at the top of a hotel. Afterwards we strolled through a upscale mall where people were snapping up Polo, Chanel, Calvin and Tommy.

A walked back to the hotel the long way after taking the ferry across the harbor on the last day of the trade show. I thought the fluorscent signs at the Buddist Temple were very interesting. It got me thinking that I seldom see any Christian churches doing unique marketing. I don't know if that is good, bad, or a terrible thought....it just was a thought.

The Hong Kong Convention Center reminds me of the Sidney Oprah House. It is unique and quite modern. It sits on Victoria Harbor amid fairly new buildings. I took the ferry across the harbor from my hotel to attend the trade show for several days. The contrast is striking in Hong Kong in that some parts are so modern while other parts seem to be from another time, era, and economy.
