Baby Girl recently posted "My 101 in 1001 Days" (Denine is also working on her own list). Here is #9 on Baby Girl's list: Be a vegetarian for a year (minus Sauce Wars).
When she was home recently she found some meat analog that our son Jordan left behind after his recent visit. JD is on his second attempt to live vegetarian and it looks like he is making it work.
Here's the thing...maybe I like barbecue a little too much to be impartial, but isn't there something slightly wrong with a vegetarian eating fake meat? Check out the box in the photo. It has a faux wing and drumstick on the vegetarian breast. "Mmmmm...I'm eating chicken, but I'm not! I'm enjoying good health by eating fake stuff!"
I understand and acknowledge that giving up meat can be a healthy lifestyle choice and I am riffing here a little in just. I admire the commitment from both the kids, but I just don't see myself warming up to any meat substitute...or mock meat...or faux meat....or imitation meat...or soy-meat...or meat analog anytime in the future.
Having said all that, I do enjoy saying "Tofurkey" quite a bit. I wonder if it's any good wrapped in bacon?
