Wedding Dance

We have been to a lot of weddings the past few months. It's been a big year for weddings. Here are a couple of observations:

• New Cov friends know how to have a great time
• Wedding ceremonies are sacred
• Wedding receptions should be a true celebration and party
• Somebody just got spanked

It's little wonder that Christ's first miracle was at a wedding. He understood sacred and he loved celebrations. I do too.

Third World Meal @ Lander University

Chris Spellman, the head of dining services at Lander University, recently calculated about 107,700 pounds of food is thrown away each year by the dining room. By contrast, the Greenwood Soup Kitchen served about 34,200 of food in 2009. To create awareness and get the students involved Chris and the university set up a "World and Local Hunger Awareness" Station yesterday and donated $5 to the Greenwood Soup Kitchen for everyone who signed the pledge and participated by eating this small and simple meal.

As I was served I was reminded that my clean & clear glass of water is not necessarily available in many places where extreme poverty and hunger exists. I know first hand this to be true. I commend the Lander University dining staff and the students for embracing this challenge. Well done, Bearcats. Well done.
