It was great fun being a judge for the Lander University Student Film Festival this weekend. A big time Hollywood screenwriter was there and everything. Even better was hanging out with friends around a fire pit after the awards ceremony. Good times.

Polarization Redux

A while back I put up this post. I don't think I have ever reposted, but in light of all the junk that has been out there these past few weeks I am struck that this should be re-posted. Really, is all that crap on Facebook and other places making you feel better? Do you feel closer to Christ?

And where was Jesus focused on spending his time? Where did he minister? Was it to the outcast and underserved or to the religious leaders? Sigh. Who are you?? Happy Easter.

Open Heart

My neighbor had open heart surgery. It saved his life.

When I talked to him I saw something in his eyes.

His conversation was pensive, but reflective.

I could tell he was in a good place.  He had faced it and survived.

I was grateful. For him. For his sake.

There is something about open heart, isn't there?

When we have an open heart we can receive. We love.

I pray that I have an open heart. I want to see life. Hear it. Live it.

I approach these days with an open heart. Ready. Willing.

Grateful for what is next.

I do not believe any more. I am not a believer.

Are you shocked? Are you surprised? Does it challenge your belief?

I do not believe because now I know.

Knowing is better. I know. It took a long time, but I know.

It removes doubt. It removes fear.
